Florida Bar Foundation Invites FRLS to Present before Distinguished Law Professionals at Board Meeting

(LAKELAND, Fla.)- Dressed in a black suit with a name tag that clearly announced her title, Florida Rural Legal Services CEO/Executive Director Jaffe Pickett greeted a crowded room of distinguished law professionals who have all gathered for the Florida Bar Foundation Board of Directors' quarterly meeting at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fl.

This meeting was a big deal for FRLS and its administrators and staff attorneys who had the priviledge of presenting to the Board on Friday, March 10.

"Thank you so much for this opportunity to share FRLS’ services and the huge impact the Florida Bar Foundation has meant to our communities, families, and individuals in our service areas and statewide for migrant farmworkers," said Pickett.

A widescreen monitor projected a PowerPoint presentation that showcased Florida Rural Legal Services in an array of bullet points and compelling photos.

FRLS staff spoke at length about the non-profit law firm's history, present projects and future goals. Pickett emphasized the importance of expanding services and staffing opportunities.

The Florida Bar Foundation is governed by a 33-member board of directors, and is a not-for-profit Florida corporation established in 1956 with a mission to provide greater access to justice through the funding of programs that expand and improve representation and advocacy for the poor in civil legal matters.
