At Florida Rural Legal Services, Inc. (FRLS), family law is our second largest area of law we cover amidst a wide range of civil legal services. FRLS is a non-profit law firm that provides free civil legal aid to qualified individuals, families, and vulnerable communities across 13 Florida counties and to farmworkers statewide. Recently a client reached out to us for legal help in an upcoming paternity case hearing. Our team was able to set her up with a Pro Bono attorney for counsel at our Pro Bono Family Law Clinic.
Our client was able to meet one-on-one with an attorney and get answers to her legal questions. However, the attorney informed the client that it would be difficult to find her an attorney for full representation in court with less than a month’s notice.
Regardless of the obstacles, our Pro Bono team reached out to our network of volunteers to find someone ready to take on her case. FRLS was successful in our search and connected her with a seasoned Pro Bono attorney.

In the hearing, our team was successful in establishing a time-sharing plan with the father and a child support plan for her two kids until they turn 18. The end result was a win for the mother of two, who wanted to be able to spend more time with her kids and know she was able to provide for them with the extra support.
Parents may not always see eye-to-eye when figuring out timesharing and child support. That’s where FRLS comes in. If you need full representation like in our client’s case, reach out and see if you qualify at 1-888-582-3410.
