FRLS hosted a Low-Income Tax Clinic for veterans in Punta Gorda

(FORT MYERS, Fla.) – Florida Rural Legal Services recently conducted a Low-Income Tax Clinic (LITC) on Thursday, Nov. 2 at Volunteers of America Housing center for Veterans in Punta Gorda. This outreach event aimed to provide assistance to low-income veterans who are faced with federal tax issues, helping them navigate the complexities of the tax system and ensuring that they receive the benefits and refunds to which they are entitled.

At the LITC event, Florida Rural Legal Services, with its dedicated team of professionals, provided crucial guidance to individuals in need. One of the standout moments of the clinic was when lead LITC Attorney Roberto Suarez took on a case, demonstrating the organization's commitment to serving those who require legal assistance in matters related to taxation.

FRLS' LITC is a free legal-aid clinic that provides legal services to low-income taxpayers who are in controversy with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). We also provide free educational tax training for those who speak English as a second language. We provide services to qualified individuals who speak English as a second Language (ESL) with free translation services provided.
