(IMMOKALEE, Fla.) – Community members gathered on Saturday, July 25, at Florida Rural Legal Services, Inc.’s (FRLS) Farmworker Unit office in Immokalee for a community resource event hosted by Amor, Fe y Esperanza (AFE) and the Farmworker Association of Florida (FAWF). The event brought together local organizations and service providers to offer critical resources and support to farmworkers and families, at no cost.
FRLS joined its community partners to help connect attendees with services designed to promote health, education, and overall family well-being. More than just a distribution event, the gathering served as a central hub where individuals and families could access information, receive assistance, and connect with organizations committed to supporting the Immokalee community.

Attendees had access to a wide range of free services and resources, including backpack and school supply distribution for students preparing for the upcoming school year provided by Books For You Miami, immigration information and resources, farmworker housing support provided by Rural Neighborhoods, food pantry distribution, and referrals to community support programs. Essential goods donations and additional assistance services were
also available throughout the event.
Community partners also provided opportunities for eligible individuals to donate blood, with participating donors receiving a $50 gift card as an incentive to support local blood donation efforts.

Events like this play an important role in addressing the diverse needs of farmworkers and underserved communities. Access to educational supplies, healthcare resources, food assistance, and trusted information can help reduce barriers that many families face while working toward greater stability and self-sufficiency.
FRLS staff members were on-site to provide information aboutthe organization’s free civil legal services and to connect attendees with legal resources that may help address challenges related to housing, public benefits, consumer issues, family law matters, and other civil legal concerns.

Through collaborative efforts like this community resource fair, AFE, FAWF, FRLS, Books For You Miami, and Rural Neighborhoods are working together to strengthen the Immokalee community by providing meaningful resources and helping families access the support they need to thrive.
