(FORT MYERS, Fla.) – Florida Rural Legal Services (FRLS) has announced the appointment of Christine E. Larson and Tracey Murvin to its Board of Directors. Both bring decades of leadership and community service experience that will help guide the organization’s mission of providing high-quality civil legal aid to low-income individuals across its 13-county service area and to farmworkers statewide.
The FRLS Board of Directors plays a vital role in ensuring the organization remains focused, responsive, and effective. The Board defines the organization’s mission, ensures that FRLS delivers services in accordance with that mission, and periodically reviews and revises it as appropriate. In partnership with the Executive Director, FRLS staff, and community stakeholders, the Board helps adopt and implement the organization’s strategic plan—ensuring long-term impact and alignment with community needs.

Christine E. Larson, of Fort Myers, has been an attorney licensed to practice law in Florida since 1978. She earned her law degree from Temple University’s James E. Beasley School of Law and brings more than 40 years of civil legal services experience to the Board. Larson previously served as Executive Director of Three Rivers Legal Services in Gainesville and held numerous leadership roles at FRLS, including Deputy Director, Advocacy Director, and Managing Attorney in various practice areas.
Her extensive community service includes leadership with Covenant Presbyterian Church, Peace River Presbytery, and board roles at Community Cooperative Ministries and Partnership in Housing, Inc. She has received recognition for her longstanding commitment to advancing justice and supporting underserved communities in Lee County and beyond.

Tracey Murvin, of Winter Haven, brings a rich background in public health, human services, and education. She currently works for the Polk County School System as a Nutrition Assistant and has served in various leadership roles with the Florida Department of Health, including Health Center Administrator and Human Service Consultant. Murvin has provided direct care, managed large budgets, and implemented public health initiatives that improved quality of life for residents across Central Florida.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management from Warner University and an Associate of Arts from Saint Leo University. Her dedication to vulnerable families and communities aligns with FRLS’s mission of equity and access.

FRLS provides these critical services across 13 counties in Central and South Florida, with a special focus on farmworkers statewide—many of whom face unique legal challenges tied to labor conditions, immigration, and housing.
